TB Awareness Programme

An awareness session on TB was conducted for BoDs with the collaboration of TB Round Six Programme on March 17, 2011 at the Office of LSO Chatorkhand.  10 members with two staffs of LSO participated the session.
Programme formally begun with the recitation from the Holy Quran. Miss Amina Bibi recited few verses from the Holy Quran.
Mr. Ali Afsar District Social Mobilizer TB Round Six Programme welcomed all the participants in the session.
Senior Social Mobilizer Mr. Ali Muhammad Zaidi explained the strengths of LSOs. He said that this awareness programme is brought to you by World Heal Organization (WHO). This programme is going on in 140 countries all over the world. There are 57 programmes in Pakistan and 6 programmes in Gilgit Baltistan are being conducted.  
He briefly discussed the symptoms, protection and the treatment of this disease. He said that WHO declared this disease as deadliest disease of the world. He further said that according to WHO report,  2 trillion out of 6 trillion population of the world is infected by TB  and increase 20 million patients yearly.
He advice to survey of UC Chatorkhand to identify the patients of TB.
District leprosy Incharge  Mr. Ziarat threw a light on the history of TB Centers in Ghizer. He said that the first leprocy center was established in 1990 in Chaorkhand Valley with the cooperation of Marie Adelaide Leprosy Center. Leprosy was controlled in 1996 by the grace of Allah. A trail based TB Center was established in 1993. But it was not full equipped with the necessary equipments.  Thus we could not get the accurate results from that method. However the diagnose system with the microscope started in 2001. But still there is a lack of staff for this department.  There should be at least one chest specialist in the district Ghizer. Then we could get ultimate results and proper treatment. 
He said that TB patient needs to be use his medicines till 8 months without any interval.  It will be high risk able if one dose not complete his doses. Almost 70% patients are dying due to the incomplete treatment.
Chairman LSO Syed Ashiq Hussain briefed about the progress of TB Round Six programme in Chatorkhand UC.  He said that a survey was carryout about TB patients two years ago however it is necessary to redo this practice for updates.
 Mr. Alli Muhammad and Mr. Ziarat answered many questions rose from the participants.
Finally it is decided by participants that this kinds of awareness programmes and medical camps are necessary to stop and diagnose TB in all Villages.

Second Visit of the Project of Protective Walls and Link Road Kuchdeh

LSO Visited the project of link road construction second time. 75% Construction is completed while a 100 ft is remaining now. Wall on both side are ready to be cemented however they are waiting for second release for buying Cement.

Another project of Protective Wall is on its initial stage. According to the Project Committee, Work on this project will be start just after the completion of Protective Wall donated by Focus which is almost completed. However digging and collection of stones is completed till today.

Follow up of Irrigation Channel Pakora Bala

LSO visited the project of irrigation channel Pakora Bala on April 6, 2011. Work on this project was started on March 5, 2011. Total length of this channel is 3050 ft covering 250 ft cemented and 2800 ft dried masonry. Total beneficiaries of this project are 82 households.
Cemented area is almost completed while digging of channel of dried masonry is completed 95%.
Construction material e.g. sand , gravel  and stones are already collected on the site.
Overall work in progress is enough faster and good.

Fallow up of Protective Wall Pakora Pain

LSO visited the project Protective Wall Pakora in Pain on April 6, 2011. Work on this project was started on March 25, 2011. Total length of this cemented Protective Wall is 250 ft and 7 ft high. Total beneficiaries of this project are 80 households.
Construction material e.g. sand, gravel and stones are already collected on the site. Digging for this purpose is 98 % completed.
Overall work in progress is satisfactory. The project committee is aiming to complete their project till mid of June 2011.

An external audit committee audited the accounts of Women Organization Pakora Bala on Feb, 28 2001. This report was presented to the all the members of respective members on March 18 2011 in their meeting.
Meeting formally begun with the recitation from the Holy Quran by a member participant.
Chairman LSO Syed Ashiq Hussain , Vice Chairman Mr. Ali Gohar, Mr. Rehmat Karim Shah member Board of Director LSO and Mr. Muhammad Saleem Manager LSO participated in the meeting.
Chairman Syed Ashiq Hussain welcomed all the participants to the meeting.
Mr. Jahangir Shah Manager Progressive Multipurpose Co operative Society Pakora presented the audit report. He said that the recordkeeping system is satisfactory however voucher system with daily cashbook is needed to be introduced.  
Mr Ali Gohar Vice Chairman share his ideas and greeted the President, Manager and all the members of W/O on presenting a successful audit report. He threw a light on the responsibilities and future of LSO.
Chairman Syed Ashiq Hussain thanked all the participants especially Vice Chairman, Member BoD and Manager LSO on behalf of President and Manager W/O on their participation.
